B2B website redesign

For businesses already taking on clients.

A consumer site sells to one person in one session. A B2B site is read by three to six people over several months, and the person who found you is almost never the person who signs.

What you get

  • A page for each buying stage, instead of one page trying to do discovery, comparison and internal justification at once
  • Content built to be forwarded: specific claims, real numbers, dates on them, nothing a champion has to soften
  • Every objection your sales calls keep repeating turned into a page you can send a link to
  • Structure a crawler can walk: every page reachable by a link, a sitemap that matches reality, a redirect for every URL that moves
  • Speed measured on real devices, not a lab score in a report
  • A written handover in language your own developer can act on

Audit delivered in 5 working days

The written plan lands 2 working days after that. Scope and price are fixed and agreed before any build starts, so nothing appears on a later invoice that you did not sign off.

How it runs

  1. Week 1The auditI go through the site the way a crawler does and the way a buying committee does, which are two different passes. You get a written list of what is wrong, ranked by what it costs you.
  2. Week 1The planWhich pages exist, which get rewritten, which get built, which get deleted. Deleting is usually on the list and usually resisted.
  3. Weeks 2 to 6The rebuildURLs preserved wherever they can be, redirected where they cannot. You see it working before it replaces anything.
  4. Launch, then two monthsChanges and warrantyThirty days of changes included, two months of warranty. Then monthly maintenance if you want it, and no obligation if you do not.

I rebuild B2B sites for how they are actually used: as something a buying committee works through, compares against two competitors, and looks for reasons to eliminate.

What is actually different about B2B

The visit is not the decision. Someone finds you in month one, sends a link to a colleague in month two, and a finance lead opens it cold in month three with no context. Three visits, three different questions, one site. Most B2B sites answer only the first.

You are being compared, not evaluated. By the time you are on a shortlist, the buyer has two other tabs open. The question is not whether this is good, it is whether it is better than the other two in a way they can defend to their boss. A site that reads well alone and vaguely next to a competitor loses.

The champion needs ammunition, not persuasion. The person who likes you has to argue your case in a room you are not in. If your site gives them nothing concrete to forward, they will paraphrase you, badly.

The objection that kills the deal is rarely on the homepage. It is procurement asking about data handling, or a technical lead asking what happens if you disappear. If those answers do not exist as pages someone can send, they get answered by silence.

About the proof, honestly

My published case study is matted.co.uk, where Search Console impressions went from 0 to 46,800 in three months after a rebuild.

That is a consumer service business, not B2B. I am not going to present it as something it is not.

What transfers is the mechanism: the site was never penalized, it was structured so that nothing could find it, and fixing the structure is what produced the number. That failure is identical in B2B, and usually costlier, because a B2B visit is worth many times a consumer one. The going rate for a single paid click on this page's own search term is over $27.

What does not transfer is the sales cycle. A consumer decides in one visit. Your buyer does not. That difference is the reason this page exists as its own service rather than a line item under a general redesign.

What this is not

This is not a rebrand. If what you need is a new logo and a new voice, I am the wrong person and I will say so on the call.

This is not lead generation. I will rebuild the site so it survives comparison. I will not run your outbound, your ads or your LinkedIn.

This is not a two-week job. If someone quotes you two weeks for a B2B rebuild, ask which of the audit, the redirects or the testing they are skipping. What a redesign costs and what moves the number are set out in website redesign cost.

Questions people ask before we start

We only get a few hundred visitors a month. Is a redesign worth it?

Often more than for a high-traffic site. At low volume every visit is worth more, and the difference between converting two per month and four is your whole year. Volume is not the number that decides this; value per visit is.

Will we lose our search rankings?

Not if the migration is done properly, and that is most of the work. A poorly executed migration drops organic traffic by 30 to 40%, and the nine things that cause it are set out in website redesign for SEO. Every existing URL either keeps its address or gets a permanent redirect to the closest equivalent, and I check them after launch, not before.

Our sales team says the site does not matter, deals close on calls.

Partly true, and it hides the cost. The site decides who gets on the call at all, and it answers the questions asked in rooms your sales team is not in. Neither shows up in a CRM.

How much does it cost?

Scope decides it. Market ranges and what moves them are in website redesign cost. You get a real number for your project the same day as the call.

Can we do it in phases?

Yes, and for a live B2B site it is often the right call. The audit ranks by cost, so the first phase is whatever is losing you the most.

Who owns everything afterwards?

You do. Accounts in your name, code in your repository, and a handover written so any developer can pick it up.

Not sure this is the one you need?

Book a free 30 minutes. Bring your site and roughly how many inquiries you get. You leave with the two or three things I would fix first, whether or not we end up working together.
